Bye Bye Summer

  Hello everybody!

Yes, it's true, in this weekend the summer ends. Well, here in Finland I really can say that the summer really ends, not in Portugal where I continued to see photos in Facebook of people on the beach with 30º. This is one of the things that makes me very jealous for not being there. Another things are the celebration of the 20 years of my scouts group (Parabéns 1346 Memória, desejo celebrar muitos mais 20 anos com vocês) and next weekend will be the celebrations of my village.

On Saturday the buses were free (I think it was because of the European Mobility Week ) and I used a couple of times, and the buses and the bus stops were full of people.

In this photo doesn't looks very full, but it was.

And for have paid nothing i also recieved a coupon.

I went ot Megazone to play Laser Quest, with the others exchange students (and of course I was late), but was very funny. At night we sang the Happy Birthday in a lots of languages to the Brazilian guy and we played AtmosFear. Scary, scary, very scary that game!

At Sunday it was very rainy day. It was in the city a cultural orientation, it was basically going to several points in the city were you could went for free. Well, I went to the first point to get free tickets to go to the City Hall for free but there were no more tickets. So when i was to go to another place it starts to rain a lot like a cataclysm. So I was under some porch to not get wet and I wait to the rain stops, but never more, so I ran to the central station and catch the bus back home. And this is my interesting Sunday.

Here is the map that came on the newspaper.

And here the unique point that I went and his stamp.

This Monday started the sencond period. I have Spanish, French (initial course), Finnish, History and some multicultural project.

And today when i was going to the city center, I walked throw this happy park. It was sun at that time, so I enjoy the moment to take a photo.

Moikka!

Back to Elemetary School

  Olá,

Yesterday i visited the working place of my host mother. She works in a elementary school. I must to say that the school here is so must better to prepare the students for real life. They have like Home Economics where they learn to cook (and guess what they have to do at homeowork), how to iron the clothes and another things to survive in our house. Or also they have Techincal Crafts where they can do what they want. The first time that i saw the students working with the machines i was thiking "I'm gonna die here, they only have 14 years and working with rotary saws", but after the techer explain me that during some classes they learn how to work correctly and safety rules, so that's not a problem. But still exists some machines that he will not alloud to work without his supervision. The project are all made by the students, obligating them to think by their selfs and not do a thing already made. Usually they like to do knifes, axes and one kind of spoon to put the water in the rocks of the sauna.

The first time that i saw this i thing that didn't work, but after, the teacher show me and it's not only for buttering.

Everybody in the school was very nice, i made two presentations about Portugal, and I recived GIFT's. Some teachers that i talk with, had been in Portugal, of course Algarve and Madeira, and they also say that Portuguese people are like the Finnish, not so much fiesta like the Spanish. In another time i will write what i think.
Here are my GIFT'S.
With this calendar I discover that exists a tradition called Name Day, you can see that in this link: http://www.namedaycalendar.com/

At lunch i went to one Thai buffet, really good the food but too spicy. And also i bought a tube scarf, because it starts to be cold here.
And to finnish the day, at afternoon I've been with another exchange students that they are here in Jyväskylä. We went to the Coffee House in Keskusta, and all costs more than 6€, quite expensive. And after we went to the Church Park and to the Harbour and to the Forum and to home, uff.

 Here is my expensive snack.

Continues sunshine in Finland, but cold for me!!!

 OMG, what is that?

Palokkajärvi!

  Moi, Hei, Terve...

Today i didn't did almost anything interesting except one thing: I ride a bike around Palokkajärvi. Yes, around all the lake. Because I'm so fast I almost take two hours to do all the way. The truth is, I spent almost all the time taking photos and waiting for camera turned or because I was in the wrong trail.
At the begging it was a little bit of sun, but after was quite cold.
I never imagine that was so many places to go to the beach (or to the deck). I didn't count but it was about 9 or 10, probably.
I wanna to say thank you to the red arrows that helped me a lot to not get lost and go to Oulu or Turku.

I'm worried with the exams next week. I will do to German, Geography and English (Oral Skils). Well to tell the truth I'm terrified with the German exam. Let's see what gonna happend.

Here is the proof that it was sun.

An here is the proof that it was in Palokkajärvi.

And here is the proof that exists decks in Palokkajärvi.

And this don't proof anything.

And here is one of my helpers. Kiitos red arrow!

A completely forgot yesterday to show you my new acquisition: a traditional hat. I bought in the market that i told last post, and it's really nice (have reindeers and jingle bells) and costs 20€.

Have a nice week.

Let´s Get Out!

   Terve,

If you know what events are happening in Jyväskylä, you are never bored. My problem is I never know that, fortunately I have a host family that knows what is happening at the city.
Yesterday I was in a medieval market called Hansapiha in Toivolan Vanha Piha. It was more the artesanal shops that were selling there his products and the people have some middle age costumes. But, of course, exists some mark of History like fighting techniques with spades and armours of very old soldiers.

I was thinking to buy some helmet or some pair of gloves to protect me from the cold, but after I remember that with a helmet raise my head in the morning will be so much harder.

Giving the foot to spinning wool all day long.

Today has been sun everyday (St. Peter saw my blog crying for the disappearance of it) and at morning I saw the cuttest thing here so far here in Finland: a race of the primary school. It's really nice to see all the children supporting each other for doing all the best, and they are so small. In Palokka was also a normal day at school because in the Friday between the 1st of May (national holiday) that will be at a Thursday and the weekend will not exists any classes, so the schools compensate with one Saturday.

The biggest concentration of blonds I ever seen in my life.

At afternoon I went to an annual market in Lutakonaukio (close to the railway station), where you can buy handcrafts, traditional food and socks and scarfs made by the grandma.
Close to the harbour i saw the marathon, and also a very curious thing that i can't explain on the lake.
Just a few seconds before the sun went down I swam at Palokkajärvi.

OMG, THIS IS SO GOOD (vegetables, potatoes, salmon, some kind of fish from the lake that i like because we don't need to be careful with his bones because it are small and soft and garlic sauce)

Not so fast as the primary school students.

I saw this before but here is the very curious thing that i can't explain on the lake.

Moikka!!!!!

God Bless Finland

OMG, for a long time that i don't say anything in the blog, but the laziness is stronger than me.
And why the title of this post? Because this have been one of the warmest summer of the last decades. Actually everybody says to me that at that time (begginig of September) it's not very commom that temperatures (a tropical 22º).
I was thinking that i was the luckiest person in the world until today. It's true that has been a lot of sun, but today the sky is grey and everybody is prepared for the cold weather and rain (yes, even the Finns!!!!!!!!).
I think that i will lie down in the bed and cry for the death of the sun, and pray for his resuscitation.
  Amen
